    The Nœud necklace

    Back

Bows have existed in the world of Haute Couture for a very long time. During the 1920s, as women’s fashion became more androgynous, Van Cleef & Arpels launched an ambitious feminization of tuxedos, via brooches shaped like bow-ties and set with precious stones. Women were able to copy men while still retaining their femininity.

In 2004, Van Cleef & Arpels unveiled the Couture High Jewelry collection with its own bow pattern. The Nœud necklace consists of two interlacing ribbons, one set with yellow diamonds in yellow gold and the other with white diamonds in white gold.

A piece with suppleness and fluidity which ensures that it sits perfectly on the neck.

The unique craftsmanship and savoir-faire of the Maison’s master jewelers have given this piece a suppleness and fluidity which ensures that it sits perfectly on the neck.

The necklace’s magic is not limited to its elegance and exceptional gemstones. Thanks to an ingenious system hidden behind the bow, it can be separated from the necklace to metamorphose into a remarkable clip brooch.
