Rhodolite

Rhodolite is a magnesium-iron silicate belonging to the garnet family. Varieties of garnet are named according to their color: rhodolite lies between the bright red pyrope garnet and the burgundy-red almadine garnet. Rhodolite is distinguished by its pinkish-red hue, which can veer towards violet. The Maison favors luminous, homogeneous stones, sometimes red with a pink cast, sometimes pink with a hint of violet.

Rhodolites are naturally included stones. The Gemstone Department is careful to select specimens whose inclusions do not affect their transparency and vividness. The Maison places great emphasis on the quality of the cut. It must be precise and symmetrical to guarantee optimal light reflection.

Rhodolite is relatively durable and easy to maintain. To preserve its beauty over time, Van Cleef & Arpels recommends storing it in a jewelry box. If necessary, it can be cleaned with soapy water and a soft brush, then dried with a soft cloth.
